5 Tamarindo Costa Rica Wedding Venues
May 5, 2022 by calmac
Fodor’s has named Costa Rica to be one of the best locations for a destination wedding, and within the country, one of the most romantic locations for a destination wedding is Tamarindo on the Pacific coast, a beloved spot to say, “I do.”
One of the primary and most crucial reasons why Tamarindo is such an incredible site to get married is its weather, there is practically little possibility of rain during the dry season so you can enjoy a beach wedding with Tamarindo’s famed sunsets which is a wonderful event.
Tamarindo provides an assortment of fantastic locations for a Costa Rica destination wedding, but also, another incentive to have your destination wedding in Tamarindo is the abundance of excellent restaurants. A destination wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone in your party, so you want to stay in a spot like Tamarindo where every meal will be the greatest one you’ve had on vacation.
Let’s not forget that your wedding is certainly the most memorable element of your vacation for everyone, but there are so many other lovely memories that will be linked to this trip forever for everyone involved. Tamarindo and its surroundings are a playground of exciting and entertaining activities.
There truly is something for everyone. Golf, sport fishing, and surfing are all available. Catamaran cruises, spas and wellness centers, yoga studios, and shopping are all available. There are national park excursions, canopy zip lines, ATV adventures, mountain biking, and, of course, relaxing on the beach! Because Tamarindo has something for everyone, your Tamarindo wedding will be the focal point of the finest vacation your friends and family have ever had.
In terms of documentation, the bride and groom must present their original passports, two copies of their passports, and one copy of the passports of their witnesses who are not family members. When they arrive, they must sign a sworn declaration stating that the information supplied is correct. The bride, groom, and witnesses sign a marriage certificate after the ceremony.
The processing time for a marriage certificate is around three months. The certificate is submitted in Costa Rica and to your country’s embassy, and a copy is mailed to you. In Costa Rica, women do not alter their last names when they marry, and the bride’s maiden name will appear on the certificate.
Whether you are eloping or bringing the family along with you, consider one of these five Tamarindo wedding venues for your big day.
1. The Beach At Sunset!

Let’s start with the obvious choice first! Tamarindo Beach is absolutely gorgeous. Without spending a dime on decorations or reservations, you can have a small wedding beachside right as the sun goes down and lights up the sky with pinks, oranges, and purples. Sure, without actual reservations, you could be in for some unexpected moments. But you cannot beat the backdrop for the price.
The ocean recedes at low tide at Tamarindo, leaving a broad length of beach with lava rock outcroppings that is a beautiful backdrop for a tropical sunset wedding. What could be more romantic than that? We can’t come up with anything.
Beach weddings at high tide are very lovely, with the sea lapping at your toes and the sound of breaking waves providing music. If you don’t want to have your wedding right on the beach, there are plenty of coastal settings where Tamarindo may serve as the backdrop for images you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
